Trace Comp

Down the street and over the hill, off the beaten path to explore. You love the feeling of riding a mountain bike, and that's why the Trace Comp is perfect for you. It’s a dual sport machine intended for both on and off road use. The 6061-T6 butted aluminum alloy frame is durable enough to take on anything, but is also built light for a nimble ride. The SR Suntour suspension fork soaks up the bumps when the pavement ends, and the Avid disc brakes give you confidence and the control to stop in any conditions. Add in the versatility and traction of all terrain tires, and you'll enjoy the freedom to go to the end of the road and beyond.

My beast

Review by Vadim
Overall Quality

I bought this bike to replace my Insight 1 performance hybrid bike originally planning to operate it only on easy trails and roads. But the place I moved to, has amazing mountain biking trails. So the tires i got stock wouldn't do. I swapped them for some honey badger Kenda's and now it's a bulldozer! I'm running through it all like crazy. Frame is sturdy, Rear Derailleur is a not switching the 4-5th gear very well, even after maintenance. I guess them hard trails take a toll on the hardware. the frame is sturdy. Thinking about adding a suspension saddle post and it will do. Overall bike looks cool and rides well. I like to have 27 gears to select from. Seating position is comfortable.

Excellent performance for all my needs

Overall Quality

I went to buy a bike for my grandson and saw a similar bike for sale. When I returned home I went to the local bike shop and found this model almost perfect for my needs and exactly to my imagined specs and design. I purchased it with a few add-ons. I love this bike! I live in the mountains so lots of hills, valleys, dirt roads, paths, trails. etc. This model has proved to be excellent under all conditions ridden. Be aware though, I have not ridden on any off road trail that I could not walk readily (as opposed to easily). Handles all all the dirt/gravel/mud/grass roads in the area easily. Even after a good rain. The trails I have ridden do have some serious exposed roots and mud/bog. But neither is extreme by any means. Just a bit challenging. This bike handles the 'medium' well.
