Great Bike but always room for improvement!

Review by yaoyaox
Overall Quality

I've had this bike for about a year, sadly before it got stolen. This bike is great for regular use, and is durable, fast, comfortable, and light. All things that it should be. Around six months I see a bit wear on my tires, this bike scratches very easily. A small scratch from a sharp object could leave a deep print. I also had a flat tire when riding and a time the entire wheel came off. Make sure you tighten the wheel very tightly, and to prevent theft install skewers to keep it in place. The wheels are nice and smooth but there are some shocks if you go thru a pothole or such. The pedals lasted barely three months. One of the pedals became really worn out to the part I had to change it (additional 30 dollars) and it was very unfortunate. The handlebars my get sticky with time and its hard to clean. I would suggest using grip tape on it, but I never have. But on the bright side I ride it to work all the time, its durable, beautiful, fast, and super comfortable. I am considering getting the same bike again as a replacement for the one stolen. (IF YOU WANT TO PREVENT UR BIKE FROM BEING STOLEN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING LOCKED. ALL WHEELS, SEATS, HANDLEBARS, AND FRAME NEEDS BE CORRECTLY LOCKED. THE MORE LOCKS THE BETTER. the hassle is worth it. AND NO CABLE LOCKS)

Good Bike, though could be better

Buy this bike and I'm sure you will enjoy it. However, I've had a number of issues with it, The spokes on mine have had a tendency to bend, causing me many flat tires, a chain, set of cogs, and ultimately I had to have the wheel cogs and chain replaced. The breaking is sufficient though not amazing, what to be expected at this price. The handling is also sufficient, though heavy and feels like a tank at high speed. As compared to my 07 Bianchi Sparta, it is far less responsive and feels sluggish. The one thing I really like however is the gear shifter, satisfying as hell

Good bike but not great

Review by RoadRash
Overall Quality

This is a good bike but not a great one. I use it to commute every day approximately 4 miles round trip. When I first starting riding, I would get a popping sound from the pedal or a bearing on the crankset at a certain part in the rotation. I hope it was the pedals and not a bearing. Speaking of pedals, they are of very poor quality. They are plastic, slippery, and one of mine has broken after two short weeks of basic road riding. The other negative is that the front derailleur seems to be of very cheap quality. With a few simple upgrades, this bike could be awesome.

Looks great

Just got this bike for my family, to complement my Insight 2. The bike looks good, shifts and brakes well, is comfortable and adjustable. Assembly is easy and everything fits perfects - unlike some other value priced bikes I've purchased from other companies. Overall, the Insight 1 is better than I'd expect for a bike at this price. The main thing I'd like to see improved is the durability of the paint - it seems to scratch easily and doesn't come with frame protectors around where the cable touch the frame.

Great bike

Review by Commuter

I purchased this bike as a used bike and it needed some restoration, rear derailleur, new combo shifter/brake levers, chain and rear cassette. Oh and wheels but Frame was in a good condition I love the way it rides and you can cover some of the components to upgraded components if you know what your doing and what exactly you'll need. I use this bike as a daily commuter bike avg 8 miles a day 40 miles a week. Comfortable ride with the right saddle and your fitted right for the bike as any other bike.

I actually never purchased this bike , some one put it to the curb on garbage day( i have no idea why?!?) , and I was lucky enough to scoop it up, all I had to do was pump up the tires and it was good to go, mind you it was the first time i have ever seen a presta valve as well so i had to purchase a presta pump after that it was far , The Best bike I have ever owned. been riding now for almost 6 months.
