Podium E'tape

* Required Fields

The easiest way to get on a Podium, the Etape road bike is meant for riders who want to get to the next level: whether that means upgrading racing categories or improving personal bests. Built around the same carbon frame, the Etape shares the ride feel and hand built construction of our other Podiums: from the tapered head tube to the ultra-stiff bottom bracket and compliant seat post and stays, it's a bike that accelerates quickly, is predictable in turns, and inspires confidence on descents. With internally-routed cables and the truncated airfoils born in our Serios TT bike program, it feels invisible to the wind, light and quick like a race bike is meant to be. With a Shimano 105 component group and HED Flanders C2+ wheels, the Etape offers a level of refinement not seen at its price.

Great bike!

Overall Quality

This is a great bike! I have a 56cm model, weighs 17.5# without pedals on my scale. Very nice ride, handles great, the 105 group works great! I opted for the caliper brake version vs. the disc brake version to save a pound overall in weight of the bike. The 105 caliper brakes work very well, and where I live it is relatively flat terrain, and I do not ride in the rain, so it was a pretty easy decision.

Assembling the bike was very easy and straight forward, and the box/packaging was very secure. After a few rides, I had to adjust the shifting cables as they stretched a bit, which is to be expected.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this bike!!!

Let me be the first to say that the pictures I've seen of this frame did no justice to it in person. This frame really and truly does look the business. Everything from the massive downtube to the super beefy chainstays to the clever shaping on the fork. I've owned and ridden Diamondback's SeriosAF frameset for the past months and after seeing their road frame, you can clearly see all of the styling and aero cues taken from their TT bike. I intend to do some back to back riding and comparing between this bike and my Specialized Tarmac Pro. i'll swap my powermeter back and forth to see exactly how the bike acts and responds to inputs and speeds at constant power levels and update this review after. I honestly believe that this bike will surprise me in all aspects. Now just to finish the build.
