You can’t have it all … Really? Nobody told that to the Release 5 C. Our top-shelf trail bike is the embodiment of new-school technology. Thanks to our Level Link suspension, the Release 5 C absolutely levels the kind of drops and rock gardens that stymie bikes with even more suspension travel. At the same time, our patent-pending design allows the Release to accelerate and climb with the kind of blazing efficiency you’d normally expect from a wispy, featherweight race rig.

The Release 5 C, in a nutshell, is the perfect all-rounder. The bike’s modern geometry - long in the front, short in the rear, low in the bottom bracket —lends the bike stability at high speeds without sacrificing agility when the trails get tight.

What’s more, we’ve decked this machine out with a peerless parts kit that includes the absolutely bomber Fox 36 Float fork and Fox Performance Elite Float DPX2 rear shock, an ultra-precise SRAM X01 Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, a wheelset with Race Face ARC 30 rims and Novatec hubs, and quick-stopping SRAM Guide RS hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors. A KS LEV Integra dropper post and Race Face Aeffect R cockpit components round out the stellar package.

Funnest Bike I Have Ever Ridden

Review by Sebastian
Overall Quality

I was just had the opportunity to demo a bunch of other bikes this weekend including yeti, evil, and giant but ended up just riding my 5c! So ridiculously fun to ride. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Only problem I've had with it is a creaky crank arm.

Just pick a size and buy it

Review by Matt
Overall Quality

If you like bragging about how much your bike costs, and not how well it rides, then this bike isn't for you. There are a ton of online reviews of this bike, so I won't beat this to death, but it delivers as promised. It climbs great, descends like a madman and is super fun to jump. I've been riding this bike non stop for a month and I have ZERO complaints about it. You can also have a ton of fun on this bike without even riding it. Many grins are had by laughing at bike shop jersey, fan boy, who paid $7K+ for his Yeti with the same spec that doesn't ride any better than my DB. As far as sizing goes, I am 6'1" tall and I have long legs. 35" inseam. I went back and forth on ordering a L or XL, and I decided to get the XL. The XL fits me really well with the dropper almost all the way in the seat tube. I could probably ride either size just fine, but if I'm between sizes I prefer a bigger frame. I like to feel like i'm "in" the bike, as opposed to feeling like i'm ridding "on top" of the bike with a smaller frame. Hope this makes sense and helps someone else out with sizing.

Not for the bike snob elite

Review by Peakguru
Overall Quality

I got my 5c 2 weeks ago after reading review upon review that glowed about the 5c's build spec, its suspension and linkage performance, its climbing and descent ability, and its overall awesomeness. My first few rides here in CO on steep, chunky, techy climbs and descents whole-heartedly endorse the on-line reviews. This bike's setup, spec kit, and linkage system are on par with $7k elite brands. If you are an elitist snob who only cares about name recognition and bike shop approval, stay away from this bike. If you want sheer fun, ability, quality, and performance from a bike thats 1/2 the price, here's your Huckleberry.

The 5C Delivers on the Promise!

Review by Mad Dog 6771
Overall Quality

I received my Release 5C on May 3, 2018. Packaging was excellent. Assembly was a breeze. Took the maiden voyage an hour ago. I am pleased to report that I am 100% convinced I made the right purchase! I was looking at Santa Cruz Tallboy and Scott Spark 710. The component package on this bike is of higher quality all around. I am 6" Feet Tall, 200 pounds. I purchased a Large. Fits perfectly. I read every review I could find: The Loam Wolf, Bicycling Magazine, MTBR, Mountain Bike Action, Seth's Bike Hacks, etc., etc. They are all On Point: This Is An Excellent Bike and an Incredible Value. Outstanding climbing efficiency, super fast downhill, very agile and nimble. Total Satisfaction. And lastly...a big thanks to Eric Porter for his vision. I Am Proud to state I am On the Diamondback Bandwagon...I am a Believer!

My demo

Review by Vinny
Overall Quality

I rode this thing in Sedona, what a blast. Hoping to get one by the end of the summer. I went there wanting to choose between a Bronson and a Process 153 and left going to buy a Diamondback.
