Versatile — that’s what’s always made our progressive trail bikes popular. These are bikes that are as at home blasting down trails alongside long-travel, full-suspension bikes at they are surfing mellow sections of singletrack. The Sync’r is our top of the line, do-it-all aluminum hardtail.

The heart of the bike is a low-slung frame that’s both playful and confident. We’ve hung the Sync’r chassis with equally stellar components that include a RockShox Recon RL suspension fork with 140mm of travel, a Race Face/Shimano SLX single-ring drivetrain that’s free of clutter and bangs off precise shifts under pressure, powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, and our own Diamondback AL35 tubeless-compatible wheelset.

The Sync’r holds its own with no-nonsense hardtail precision and all-mountain capabilities, making it a great choice for any mountain biker.

This bike rips

My wife got this for my birthday after I'd been eyeing it for months. I got really hyped up about it after watching Seth and DailyMTBRider on YouTube. I was a little worried that it might not live up to the hype, but it definitely does. I have no problem keeping up with my FS friends, and always have a blast on this bike. It climbs well, is fairly light and well equipped for its price point. I did put a 150mm dropper on it and converted to tubeless - a 'must' for this bike. I have the 2018 model (purple one) and do sometimes wonder why the rear is boost and the front isn't. It may make things weird if I want to upgrade fork or wheels later on. Looks like they changed that in this new tan one. But for now I have no need to upgrade it, it feels like a much pricier bike and handles great, both up and down hills. I was also impressed with the stock pedals - most 'serious' bikes don't come with pedals, and decent ones are usually $50+ (like raceface Chester's) and the pedals this came with work great! I am quite pleased with this bike.

Was sick of my full suspension bike and wanted to get back on a hardtail....this was the perfect choice! It’s great on rocky technical singletrack and a total blast on steep downhills....and it climbs so much better than a FS bike. The only thing I change on it was the saddle and I put 2.6 tubeless tires on it.

Fantastic bike

I spent months determining where to go to re-enter the mtb hobby. Decided on this bike, ordered it Friday. It arrived 3 days later, and after ~20 minutes of unpacking it was less than 10 minutes to bedding in the brakes and putting the first couple miles on to get a feel for my first non-rigid bike. The shifting is dialed, smooth and easy, the brakes feel nearly ideal and once my shock pump arrives I'll make sure to dial that too. This bike is everything I wanted, although I'm not a huge fan of the color or the Sync'r saddle, but I feel like that's more on the fact that I'm a fairly heavy set guy with very little butt to pad the seat, but since I'm putting a dropper on anyway, it won't make a huge difference really. Highly recommend this bike, but it's not internally routed like previous models.

I purchased this bike a few weeks ago, and cant get enough time on the trail with the Sync'r. its an absolute fun bike to ride, for a hardtail this bike is super smooth on the trail. The components on this bike are great and best of all its has been designed to be upgrade friendly, the routing hole on the seat tube allows an internally routed dropper also comes with mounting for a bash guard. Overall this is a great Hardtail and i will enjoy this bike for as long as i own it.

Sizing and customer service

So for warning I do not own the new sync'r, yet. I am planning on buying it in the up coming weeks. I just wanted to talk about how amazing the customer service team has been in answering my questions. Like any bike, this is a pretty big purchase. I want to make sure I get something durable that will last me a while. Along with my concerns were sizing, I’m a smaller 5’11 which Diamondback classifies as a Large. I’ve ridden the 2018 sync'r quite a bit in size medium and loved it. So I got ahold of customer service and got in touch with Leif, he gave me a big list of things to look at when debating on what size to go with. Im leaning toward a Medium frame size because I have relatively short legs and am fairly narrow. I think it will give me better reach to the pedals and also the ability to throw it around easier in the air. Can’t wait to get this thing and get out on the trails this year!
