The Diamondback Release 1 begins with our Level Link suspension system, which isolates chain forces from trail inputs. Or to employ less tech-geek speak, the suspension doesn’t bob when you stomp on the pedals, yet becomes extremely plush the moment your wheels start smacking roots and rocks. Thru-axles front and rear add stiffness to improve steering precision when the trail gets rough.

The 27.5” Diamondback Blanchard wheels are tubeless compatible, so you can install tubeless tires for even more traction and control. For all-day adventures, bike park outings, and all-round trail ripping, the Release 1 trail bike is ready for action.

Amazing bike for the price

Review by First full Sus
Overall Quality

My first bike was an overdrive expert and I have always had amazing experiences with Diamondback and the durability on my overdrive so that is why I chose this bike. I have also rented and ridden specialized and intense bikes before and I have to say for this amazing price I cant notice a whole lot of difference. The frame is solid, long and ready to take on anything. Just because the front fork is Suntour dont let that fool you. The Aion works amazingly. The biggest possible negative I have is the rear shock. I say possible because for my riding, a lot of climbing, it's perfect. It is stiff and doesn't engage super regularly, like the rockshox shocks which are super spongy. This means for climbs it almost feels like a hard tail. Now when you do hit a large bump or drop it engaged perfectly. I love this bike. The 150/130 travel will keep you nice and planted for rocky trails and soak up bumps down hill, while being nice and stiff for the climbs. The rear shock doesn't have a lock out, but you really dont need it. Biggest problem is finding accessories other than black to match! Incredible bike, would buy again!

Great entry full suspension bike

I rented a release 2 and it road awesome; so I was going to order one myself. However, DB was out of stock on the release 2 for longer than my patience would allow; so I ordered the release 1. The bike has road well and I have no regrets. The fork did make a small rattle noise at first, but once I took the fender off it seemed to stop. Whether that was a coincidence or it actually caused the rattle I can't really say. All in all I'm very pleased with how this bike rides and love taking it out.
