Line Bike

There was a time when _every_ mountain bike was an all-around hardtail. The Line follows in that great tradition — but that doesn’t mean it’s some kind of crusty throwback. We’ve equipped the Line with a cutting-edge frame that’s lightweight yet bomber. Stable under pressure, yet playful when you’re looking to boost a little air or hit that next corner a bit faster than is, strictly speaking, wise.

The Line’s modern frame is dressed out in parts that are just as impressive. A Shimano 1x9 drivetrain lets you blaze through the gears with pinpoint precision every single time. Because we know hard-charging riders gravitate to these progressive trail bikes, we’ve also added a bit more security in the form of a chain guide with roller, a capable SR Suntour XCR 120mm travel fork (with a lock-out for those big climbing days) and powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.

Climbs, descents, berms, a bit of jumping: the Line upholds the do-it-all hardtail tradition … without being traditional at all.

Excellent For the Price, But Consider Spending More

I purchased a 2019 Diamondback Line and for the amount of bike you get, this was an absolute steal. It was Easy to put together, and absolutely rips on the trails. The 2019 has no chain drop problems that previous years had.

I didn't know much techy stuff about the specs when I bought the bike, but I've learned a little since. Here's some stuff that I didn't know was considered "undesirable" when I bought the bike:

1. It comes with a 3 piece square taper bottom bracket instead of 2 piece integrated.
2. The XCR is a coil fork with a straight steerer tube instead of a tapered air fork.
3. The front and rear have QR dropouts instead of Thru axle
4. The only good 1x9 derailleur upgrade is a microshift advent (not really a bad thing)

These are features you might want... For some reason. So consider jumping straight to a Sync'r, which I believe is more suitable for gear snobs.

Solid 1st Mountain Bike

Review by Ryan
Overall Quality

I just got into mountain biking and went with the Line as my first bike and have not been disappointed. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting on the local trails with this bike. I have not sent the bike off any massive jumps or drops but I think it would be up for the test if I so desired. I would buy this bike again no questions asked.

horrible chain

Review by Andrew
Overall Quality

this is the worst chain i have ever had to work on instead of including a master link there is a pin that has to be pushed through and it is nearly impossible to get back in so if you have to remove your chain you might as well buy a new one

Awesome bike!

I come from a bmx/road bike back ground and after moving to Arkansas wanted to get into something new. I seen the mountain bike scene here growing and had to jump in. Never owning a mountain bike I finally settled with the line after about a month of research. I chose the line because every review online I found seemed to fit exactly what I wanted out of my first mountain bike. Seth’s bike hacks on YouTube turned me to the brand though I’ve known about them my whole life I just didn’t ever think to buy from them. I’m so glad I did. Customer service was great at answering all my annoying questions and finally helping me settle. The bike itself is sturdy and holds up real nicely. Super easy to assemble and the bike comes with some decent tools. I’m already planning on buying my next bike from diamondback just because how good of quality this bike is at its price point. The only reason I give it a 4 is the bikes do fit big so I ended up having to go with the medium. So order a size smaller. At least ask one of the reps to help you with sizing. Great bike for a great price!
