Line 24

A bike they can grow with, the Line 24 is a junior version of our do-anything hardtail mountain bike. Equipped to handle the abuse of real mountain bike trails and the bumps and bruises that come from daily use around the neighborhood.

It's made from the same 6061 aluminum alloy as our full-size bikes so it's practically indestructible. An SR Suntour fork performs like the big guys' bikes, giving your ripper-to-be 80mm of front suspension travel. The 24" wheels are stiff and stable, and shod with aggressive 2.35" wide Kenda tires: perfect for tearing up the woods. Disc brakes and a wide-range SRAM 1×8 drivetrain are real performance features, reinforcing that the Line 24 is a legit mountain bike -only smaller.

Built to last and shred!

Review by Bern
Overall Quality

This Bike is built to last, with quality components that normally you don't see at this price point, the brakes are killer and so is the wheel set. He loved the wide bars, all and all this Rig is amazing.

He loves it!

Overall Quality

My 12 yr old narrowed his search down to the Line 24 after much research. He is a little on the small side for his age, so hopefully this will last him a while. Kid's full suspension choices tend to be expensive and heavy, so we decided a 24 or 26" hardtail with discs, aluminum frame and decent components was the ticket, and the Line 24 was the standout choice. Plus I had just bought a DB Overdrive for myself so I had to buy him one to keep him off mine. The 24 is perfect for him, he's been tearing up our wooded back lot since he unpacked it. It's been a wet spring here and the Kendas work well in the mud, and the 1x8 SRAM is a joy compared to the old twist shift. He did rotate the shifter a little on the handlebar to fit his hand better. He also lowered the chain guide a bit to keep it from falling off when jumping curbs and logs. The fork is a good match for his weight, it cushions well without bottoming. It also does very well as a road or bike path bike. Today he took out his old $120 20" Kent full suspension and couldn't believe how inferior it was compared to the Diamondback. He's already talking about accessorizing it, and is getting pretty handy wrenching which is a big plus. Overall, I don't think we could have made a better choice

Awesome kids bike

Review by Gianfranco
Overall Quality

Well, I feel in need to write this review due to the great experience I had with DB.
This bike was bought as a second purchase. I bought this bike for my son so he can ride with me on a better bike than the one he had. The delivery of the bike was fantastic, in less than 24 hours, REALLY! this bike was delivered to my door, that was amazing, take that Amazon!
The bike has a light frame, the color is dark blue with some decals in the form of a hook, I think this bike mimics the Hook line adult version. The bars and seat are great, and yeah I know that there will be complaining about the seat but I will just push him to work hard for his butt to get fit. Bars are wide enough for a kid, my son is 9 and he looked having a good posture to ride. Now the grips, I can care less, they are the cheap version of grips but I plan to change them, don't get caught in this component! The shifter is amazing, SRAMX4 is easy on my kid's thumb, a so much needed upgrade from the awful twist shifter. it does the job done with no hesitation, easy to push in both levers, no need to push hard, just hard enough to make it shift, it also has an indicator of the gear he is at. Also it has the function to go from a high gear to a low gear holding down the lever, making it amazingly convenient if you need to switch gears while climbing. The derailleur is an SRAM X4, robust an it seems like can take some hard punches in the trail, it's smooth and quiet, great combination with the cassette 1x8. The chain ring is okay, mimics again the set ups of 1X11 or 1X9 of entry level bikes from DB. I think the drive train in this bike is good for kids. If you want to know more about SRAM I suggest that you do your homework and research the brand and the groups they offer. The tires are good, it's impressive that they use a 2.35 wide for a kid bike, the rims are DB brand, I had the same type in my entry level bike and they deliver a good experience. Hubs are good also, entry level but that's the intend of this bike. Now, the fork is a SR Suntour, this is a coil suspension, with preload adjustment. I have abused the one in my other bike in every trail and opportunity I have had and still the fork is good, don't expect too much from it, if you want better performance you will need to upgrade it to something better, if the bike's frame allows it. I'm okay with the fork, I don't expect my kid doing dirt jump any time soon. Tektro brakes are basic mechanical disc brakes, they provide the power to stop that it's needed in this bike, the brake levers are very basic, the adjustments are kind a of a pain but they work but they are much better that the pads to the rim.

Overall, I gave this bike a 5 stars since it's well built, with components that are found in other adult entry level bikes, and the price was a great part of the deal.
