Dirt hasn't changed, but hardtails have.
  • Free Same-Day Shipping
  • Free Assembly and Pick Up
  • Hassle Free Returns

The Hook delivers a pure and simple mountain bike experience, reflecting the evolution of the hardtail: it’s light, responsive, and just plain fun to ride. This starts with the frame’s slack geometry. Long and low, this bike is worlds apart from your ride of the past. It maintains the efficient power transfer and precision of cross-country hardtails, but it’s tons more fun than bikes of old. Short chainstays and a low bottom bracket make it a blast to ride, especially while descending and cornering. Outfitted with a plush five inch fork, single ring drivetrain, 27.5” wheels, disc brakes and wide handlebars, it’s a modern take on the timeless mountain bike. As a hassle-free intro bike or a reminder of simpler days, the Hook doesn’t disappoint. Ready Ride bikes are shipped 95 percent assembled. Typical bike assembly is time-consuming and requires technical know-how. Ready Ride reduces the time and skills needed for the final, four-step assembly.

Great Intro Bike

Review by Alex
Overall Quality

This bike is perfect for getting someone into mountain biking it's simple and very affordable, my brother bought this but I'll give my opinion when I tested it out. I will say, however, when you spend this much on a mountain bike you should know what you're getting. The fork is very squishy which can be very assuring for a rider as it absorbs a lot of shock but pedaling up hill is really hard work. If you need to brake on this bike brake early because these cable actuated disc brakes don't have as much stopping power as I'd like. The main reason why I'm not giving it the full 5 stars is that I feel like the chain guide could've bee a bit better, the chain slips off unexpectedly sometimes which is sort of dangerous to new riders but better there be a chain guide than no chain guide. Overall it's a great bike for taking it out on novice trails I would totally recommend this bike to a beginner!

I bought this bike on amazon back in feburary and was absolutly amazed at how fun it is to ride i ride this bike almost daily i have around 150 miles on it the only issues i have had is the chain comes off from time to time and currently i have a broken derailer and hanger it had started shifting a little rough then the derailer got caught in my wheel and broke along with the hanger so maybe i should have took it to get tuned up or something after breaking it in non the less i will get it fixed and back on the road and trails very soon it is so much fun to ride i would recomend this bike to any entry level rider like myself it would get 5 stars instead of 3 if it wernt for the derailer/hanger issue but like i said it could be my fault it shifted rough for awhile before it broke either way you cant go wrong with this bikegreat buy.

great bike for the price i have about 150 miles on mine only issue i have had is my derailer got caught in my wheel and broke along with my hanger but i will definatly get it fixed and back out on the road i absolutly love riding this bike i would recomend it to anyone only reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the chain popping off every now and agin and the derailer issues i have had.

Great Bike for the Price

Review by Nick

Bought this bike to get back into mountain biking and was only expecting to have it for a couple seasons and then upgrade to something more serious once my skills surpassed what the Hook could handle but boy was I wrong in that thinking. This bike surprises be every time I ride it. Every trail, jump, and rock I throw at this bike it takes it like a champ and is ready for more. I keep wanting to find a reason to upgrade but the Hook got me. Like Tim said in a previous review, the only major flaw with the bike is the chain pops really easily but that doesn't bother me to much.

Ballin' on a budget

Review by Tim

For the price, this is a great bike. If you are mechanically inclined, and like to upgrade components, like me, this bike is perfect. Only issues I have with it are the lack of a rebound adjust on the forks, and even with the chain guide, I throw my chain on small jumps and bunny hopping sometimes. I'm certain a narrow wide chainring up front will solve the latter, and I was going to upgrade the forks anyhow. All around I'm very pleased with the Hook.
