Haanjo Trail Carbon

Turns out we weren’t alone in wanting to explore the whopping 30% of our country’s roads that aren’t paved or maintained: our Haanjo series of bikes were lauded by gravel adventurers and commuters alike. Somewhere between a cross bike, a touring bike, and a road bike, the Haanjo Trail was an instant hit. Quick, comfortable, and tough enough to handle punishment that would disintegrate a normal road bike, riders love its versatility.

For 2017 we’ve added a new option: hand-built carbon framesets. The geometry is similar but the ride has become even better. And with hydraulic disc brakes, thru axles, and a Shimano 2×11 speed drivetrain, the Haanjo Trail Carbon is ready to gobble up any terrain, any time.

Great Value

Overall Quality

I bought this bike to replace my Salsa Fargo for fast paced gravel rides. The spec checked off most of the items I was looking for; Shimano Ultegra groupset, 2x11 w/ cross gearing, hydraulic brakes and a 20 LB weight. The HED wheels are light and come pre-taped to setup tubeless; all you need to add are tubeless stems and latex. I utilized Orange Seal stems and 4oz of Stan's per tire; the Schwable tubeless tires beaded up first attempt and held tight.
I was able to get my Trail Carbon on sale for $2,100 which included shipping and free assembly at a local bike shop. The only thing I found I had to do for my personal preference was flip the stem up since it was "slammed" and I torqued the center lock nut on the front brake rotor since it had a little bit of front to back rotational play. So far, a great bike at an incredible value.

Amazing Bike

Review by Mike

I have had the bike 2 months and about 1000 miles (300 gravel) so far. This bike has great geometry and would be good in any build. During my last race there were multiple stream crossings (4 I had to carry the bike for, one was ridden through) and some very rough MMR sections (minimum maintenance roads/ ATV trails) and the bike was great. I found the bike to be very well balanced with a frame bag and top tube bag holding everything I needed for a difficult 7 hour bike ride and very competent on the difficult descent that multiple riders ended up walking down.

6 stars out of 5, would buy again.
