We had one goal here: Create the best bike possible at the best possible price. The Century 1 is the fruit of that project — a bike that removes many of the barriers that keep people from discovering how great road riding can be.

The Century 1’s 7005 aluminum alloy frameset has formed tubes for durability and great power transfer without the burden of extra weight. On top of that, the bike is incredibly comfortable. Our Enhanced Performance Geometry (EPG), utilizes a taller head tube, which puts you in a slightly more upright position than a traditional race bike. It’s a seemingly small tweak, but you absolutely feel a big difference towards the end of a ride, when, hey, your neck and back don’t hurt at all… That’s weird — no, wait, that’s fantastic.

We’ve equipped the Century 1 with a 2x8 drivetrain and a high-quality mix of FSA and Shimano components that have just as much staying power as the Century’s frame.

Great Bike

Review by Ian
Overall Quality

Purchased the Century 1 a little over a month ago and had put low miles on it. I did my first Fondo on it a week ago that consisted of mostly gravel roads. The bike performed very well the only change I made was putting 700c x 35 gravel tires on it, which fit perfectly. The brakes could be a little better quality but no major complaints. I would recommend this bike for sure.

A lot of adjusting and tinkering required

Review by Dave Mei
Overall Quality

I bought this bike and had it assembled at a pro bike shop. When I brought it home, I found several annoying issues. Some were from the bike shop, but most were from the quality of the pre-assembly. The handlebar was not set exactly in the middle and you could visually tell by the alignment aids.

Then there are the problems with the front derailleur, front chain ring, and caliper settings. The front derailleur was not set anywhere ready for riding out of the box. The chain rubs against the derailleur at the highest and lowest gears. Then there is a very apparent warping of the front chain ring, resulting in additional chain noise. And both calipers rub against the disc brakes because they were not set properly. So now I have to take it back to Bike Barn and have them adjust all three things, which added to the original cost of the bike, costs as much as the other entry level road bikes in their shop. At least with those, they should be properly adjusted and tuned.

Though, the bike IS fast and comfortable. I also like the look very much. But in long rides, aesthetics is not enough to overcome those issues.

Couldn't be more happy with it and customer support!!!

Hey everyone,
I bought this bike in an effort to migrate from a hybrid to a road bike (potentially converted into a gravel). I just couldn't afford anything more in my present situation, after countless hours of going to local bike shops looking at bikes worth more than my monthly paycheck before tax I stumbled across this beauty. The color schemes on a lot of the industry bikes are should I say atrocious in most cases, looks are important as well as quality to me. Just when I thought 'oh well' maybe some other time, I remembered the Diamondback mountain bike I had as a child. I instantly searched the site and found the EXACT bike that fit my needs! Since I was possibly considering a gravel conversion, I sent a quick email to support about max tire width - thinking welp this won't be any help. I couldn't have been more wrong! Within less than a day I had a REAL support tech who was extremely knowledgeable, gave me specs, links, and all the info I could have asked for in one reply! I received the bike, assembled it easily and have put a few miles on it over the last couple days. So far I can honestly say: shipping, packaging, quality of components, everything exceeds my expectations. The only two items I would recommend are these - aftermarket Pedals, potentially a seat upgrade if you're looking for a soft ride (it's hard as the other reviewer mentioned). Could not have been happier with the price point vs. what I received, I'm Diamondback all the way from here on!

Century 1 experience

Bike rides nice and smooth. But couple things I didn't like about this bike is the seats and sensitivity to small road bumps. Seats are painful.
