Century 5C Carbon

Not so long ago, fast bikes came in one flavor: painful. As in, painful to ride for anything longer than an hour at a time. Super steep head angles, sprawling top tubes, and a spine-rattling ride quality were the norm. Those traits might be fine for a rare few, but for the rest of us? We’re not all sadists.

Well, the Century is an entirely different flavor of fast — the kind that’s actually enjoyable. We carefully blended high- and low-modulus carbon fiber and obsessed over the lay-up of those carbon plies to create a bike that is still light and blazingly quick, but also impressively smooth in the saddle. The Century 5 C is well-appointed on the component side of the equation as well. Shimano’s 105 2×11 drivetrain delivers crisp shifts and their hydraulic disc brakes have a well-earned reputation for power and reliability.

Fast doesn’t have to mean “painful.” With the Century 5 C, fast is simply, well, fast.

Ready Ride bikes are shipped 95 percent assembled. Typical bike assembly is time-consuming and requires technical know-how. Ready Ride reduces the time and skills needed for the final, four-step assembly.

Nice Ride

Review by Kaz
Overall Quality

I bought the Century 5 to replace my worn out Team bike that I had before . It is not ask quick in the take off but the ride is smooth . The components are excellent . The bike is a pleasure to ride distance on. It is alight good handling bike . The only complaint I have it took a lot of riding to break in the saddle . Which is easily replaceable . I would recommend this bike is you are looking for good purchase and good value .and good ride .

Where have you been all my life?

Review by DannyBOKC
Overall Quality

I recieved my new Century 5c today. I've been looking for about 2 months for a new carbon bike. The least expensive at any bike shop in my area was $3600 and that was very entry level. So.....I started reading and researching online. I know the Diamondback name from mountain bikes but road bikes? I totally did a scooby doo and was pleasantly surprised. After looking at all the bikes and reading reviews I decided on the Century 5, I wanted the 6 but wasn't in stock :( I ride about 150 miles a week I'm not a racer and I ride to decompress from my very stressful job and for my health. I've been riding for over two years and my current ride is a Trek Domane ALR. I like my Trek, except its heavy, you can't keep the derailleur's aligned and my bike shop way over sold it. Anyway, it was time to trade up to a carbon bike.
When the Fedex man arrived today I was unsure what to expect. To my surprise a slender box was given to me that he had no problem carrying. Hummmmm....is there really a bike in there? Yes, there was a bike in that box! I opened the box, got my Galaxy tab, and started unboxing. I played the video on the website just to make sure I wasn't screwing anything up as I went. The bike was impeccably packaged. I mean Rolls Royce style ya'll. I removed all packaging and put the bike together. When I lifted the bike it was soooo much lighter than my Trek which weighs about 22lbs. Assembly is a piece of cake considering DB gives you everything to put it together. I mean EVERYTHING.
I had the bike fully assembled in about 40 minutes. I was taking my time and studying it as I went. I aired up the tires and decided it was time to see if I had it adjusted properly. I did pretty well the first go. The seat height seems high but I believe it's because you are at a different angle when riding on the Century. So I'm sure I will get used to it. I road around the block and the derailleur's needed some adjusting. No problem there, theres a video for that too! I made the adjustments and bam! All good. I rode around the block again and the bike was quiet, smooth shifting, and comfy. Sweet! The seat on this bike is awesome, it's quite comfortable. I love the cabling being internally routed, it just makes it look so much cleaner. Overall first impressions - where have you been all my life DB? I'm so excited for my Saturday morning 30 mile ride I can't stand myself right now. If this bike holds up anything like their mountain bikes then ill never buy another brand of bike again. I also bought this bike because its Di2 compatible. I plan to upgrade the bike if I enjoy it. So far a great experience.
