Century 1

The Century 1 is an endurance road bike designed for the rider who is looking for an alternative to the stereotypical fit and high prices of top end race oriented bikes. Using our Enhanced Performance Geometry, the frame incorporates a taller head tube to take the stress off your neck and back and provide a more comfortable fit. Completely redesigned, frame is built from 7005 aluminum alloy with custom butted and beautifully formed tubing to deliver a balance of strength, durability, light weight, and sleek looks.

It’s outfitted with an amazing component group for its price: TRP disc brakes, an 11 speed Shimano 105 drivetrain, and HED wheels. Ready Ride bikes are shipped 95 percent assembled. Typical bike assembly is time-consuming and requires technical know-how. Ready Ride reduces the time and skills needed for the final, four-step assembly.

Solid road bike for the disc brake set

Review by Nachoooos
Overall Quality

After some small issues I'm quite happy with my Century. I am using it as a winter training bike. I love the wide tires and disc brakes. It's comfortable and feels snappy when necessary. The frame has gobs of clearance, even though I measured my "28s" at 31mm with the wide HED wheels. The 105 parts are dependable, and the bike came perfectly adjusted needing minimal assembly when I ordered it. The fact that it came with water bottle cages was a nice touch. Through axles are simply the only way to go for disc brake frames. The frame looks racey and I like the graphics. Even the stock saddle has been satisfactory.

The bike is heavy, but I don't consider that a big flaw for what it is at this price. The tires only made it one winter ride before they became the victims of road grit. I replaced them with folding bead tires that were faster anyway. The fork doesn't have a fender mount, which seems like an odd omission. My biggest real complaint is the handle bar. My 54 cm bike came with a 44cm bar, which felt gawky and silly. I replaced it with a 42cm which has solved the problem (I changed the stem length too, but that's no one's fault).

Overall I look forward to racking up miles on the bike. I see it as a winter training bike, but I might race it if the weather doesn't look carbon wheel friendly or where I know the roads are choppy. It would certainly be a great commuting bike or just all around road bike for someone who wants something good quality at a low price.

Great Bike, Great Price!

Review by Jon
Overall Quality

I bought this bike a little over two months ago and just have to say I got a lot more than what I expected. The components are all top notch, and won't be found on any other bikes in this price range. The brakes are amazing and shimano's 105 groupset is amazing. Would recommend!

Fun ride/ great value

I looked at thousands of bikes before buying this one, and I never found a better deal for this level of quality. I've now put in a few hundred miles and enjoy it more on every ride. I only wish I had purchased my mountain bike from DB.

I am blown away!

Review by Robbie
Overall Quality

I purchased this bike mainly to commute to downtown Denver everyday (10 miles round trip). I immediately put on some cheap nashbar city tires on it to keep me a little safe from punctures. It has been an amazing commuter, I look forward to riding this everyday. Finally after a month of ownership, I had some time to take this on the trails and I rode 33 miles this morning. I was blown away, this bike is amazing. On my previous bikes, I would start to feel some body aches at 25 miles, but I didn't feel anything until I got home. This bikes climbs amazing. It shifts amazing, it brakes amazing. I love this bike. This bike ended up being under $800 and that included assembly and delivery by Beeline, which I highly recommend if you have them in your area. For under $800 this bike can't be touched by ANY of the big bike brands. I absolutely love this bike and I plan on ordering a diamondback mountain bike this spring along with a road bike for my wife. Diamondback is for real.

Excellent Value for the price

Review by Joseph from Kansas
Overall Quality

The value for these level of components is amazing. The proof that the engineers know what they were doing is in the fact that it comes with 28mm tires which the experts know by now as having the lowest rolling resistance. Other road bike companies are still selling road bikes with 23mm even though they having the highest rolling resistance. The TRP spyre calipers are some of the highest Quality calipers that they sell and the Shimano 105's at this price range is unheard of. I ride bikes everyday as my main form of transportation and can tell you that no where else can you find a deal on a road bike with 105's, disc brakes with trp spyre calipers at the 800 dollar range. I give it a 98 out of 100. I would only ask the engineers to move up to atleast 160mm rotors front and rear and have a 2 bolt seat post clamp.

Great bike!

This is an awesome bike!

They actually don't advertise it for this model, but this is also a Ride-Ready model. I didn't have to route any cables or anything, and install is simply tightening screws. Very handy and let me ride it without taking it to a shop. It also came with some very nice tools.

The only thing is I've been told the slick tires, while fast, aren't as puncture resistant as you might like. Consider investing in tougher tires after purchase.
