Atroz Comp

There are plenty of complex full-suspension mountain bikes out there, most demanding high prices. The Atroz Comp takes a different approach by streamlining its suspension design and saving you some money in the process. The high chainstay design delivers 120mm of suspension travel that eliminates chain slap as you’re riding through the rough stuff, with a Rockshox Recon fork soaking up the bumps out front. The aluminum alloy frame is simple, lightweight and plenty durable so you can enjoy the ride with the peace of mind that it’s built to last. Outfitted with hydraulic brakes, a 142×12mm thru-axle, and SRAM’s NX 1×11 single ring drivetrain, you’re looking at a very capable trail bike. Ready Ride bikes are shipped 95 percent assembled. Typical bike assembly is time-consuming and requires technical know-how. Ready Ride reduces the time and skills needed for the final, four-step assembly.

Exceeded my expectations for the price

Review by Jason
Overall Quality

I picked up the Atroz comp after much deliberation. Purchased from Amazon during a sale for $1200. I figured since I cant try it out first, Amazon has an excellent return policy and as a prime member, fast shipping. The bike came without any damage. I have my own tools and work on my own bikes so assembly, adjustments etc was a breeze. Honestly even for $1500, it's a good purchase. Please take reviews from Amazon and other places with a grain of salt. I can tell you that the few people who mentioned snapping the frame are either idiots because they pushed the bike waaayyyy beyond its travel limits or they have no clue how to set up their front and rear shocks. I live and ride in Northwest Arkansas and can tell you first hand the trails are extremely unforgiving here... rocky, rooty and plenty of nasty drops, downhill, jumps etc. The Atroz can handle 95% of the trails here. What I would not do is take this to a bike park and attempt freeride/freestyle type of jumps and drops. It's 120mm of single pivot travel. Don't be an idiot.
The geometry is pretty aggressive and I find excellent for more downhill and flowy trails as opposed to cross country. A few adjustment can fix that. For narrow single track like I'm used to, the bars are a bit wide and especially with shorter arms. I'm cutting mine a tad. The SRAM nx drivetrain so far has been pretty smooth shifting and no issues at all. Gear range is fine except for maybe the steepest of climbs. Tektro brakes are ok. Need to bleed my rear I think. It has a bit too long of a pull, but its stopping power is as good and control as good as a lower end Shimano. Bike weighs about 32 lbs which is same range as most bikes in this category for full suspension alloy trail. People who say it is heavy are an unreliable source of review just for that fact. My only complaint is Diamondback should have just put a lower end air fork as opposed to the coil recon silver. Now, for a coil, as long as you adjust the damper and pre-load for YOU and the medium coil it comes with is the right tension for your weight, then it's actually a comfortable and damn good shock. However, I would have paid an extra hundred for a rockshox lower end air like the recon silver air or judy to come with the bike. I am not satisfied with the rims. The hubs seem fine right now, but the rims are cheap. The best you can true them will still leave a little radial movement at the seam.

Time will tell and I may have to make an addendum some day, but Diamondback makes a great bike for the price. I commend them for their consumer direct approach for folks like me who can work on their own bikes. Saves big $$. The Atroz comp is a worthy trail mtb and I've yet to find much in that range for the quality.

Great Machine for the price

I bought this bike a few months ago because I wanted an Enduro style bike. All of my friend ride dual suspension and I've been riding hard tail nearly over 20 years. This bike handles amazing for the price. It tackles tough terrain smoothly and with great control. The high chainstay eliminates all the chain noise and the single pivot works great compare to higher end bikes. I definitely recommend the Atroz Comp to anyone. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it small for a medium. I should have bought the large. Thanks DB

Plush ride and highly responsive

Great bike.
The ride is plush and readily adjustable, and it conquers rocks, roots and drops like they're practically not even there. Cornering is rather tight and responsive, and pedaling is fairly efficient as well, although I do wish the front cog was a little larger for climbs.
It's obviously designed to go fast, and I'm rarely out of 7th or 8th gear on even very fast trail.
The brakes are pretty good too, although a little stiff for one finger braking.
Traction is great, so far durability is great, and it's also rather easy to assemble.
Mine had a bent hanger out of the box (shipping) but BD made it right. Great service.

Super Nice..

To start, 2 months ago I spent $500 on a mountain bike thinking I would learn on it and grow with it.. Wish I knew then what I know now because it didn't take long for me to know that the bike I was riding wouldn't last the year. I LOVE THIS BIKE!! Its aggressive, Firm and something that will allow me to grow as my skills advance. Had this out on the trails and had an absolute blast, The wide handlebars and aggressive geometry gave me the confidence to conquer areas I was scared to try before.. Oh and the customer service was supper nice in answering any questions or concerns..

I have never left an online review for any product, however, the lack of reviews on this bike prompted me to pop that cherry.

This is my first full suspension mtn bike that I have owned. I have a well versed background in riding dirtbikes and many of my friends are into mtn biking so I thought I'd make the transition. I purchased this bike via a pro deal which was my deciding factor in choosing the Atroz. I have owned it for a week and feels solid, however, the bike arrived with a bent derailir hanger and a faulty shifter. The customer service was great and they shipped me new parts that day. Over all I really enjoy the bike considering the money I spent on it. Time will tell how it holds up but as far as performance is concerned it feels and responds great. I would reccomend.
