People say you have to spend a hell of a lot of cash to buy a full-suspension bike. Or at least a full-suspension bike that truly performs. They’re usually right. Usually. But not this time around. The Atroz proves them wrong with four inches of reliable coil-sprung rear suspension that nicely smooths out the trail.

Since you’ll need to climb to the top of the mountain, we’ve also given the Atroz a 24-speed Shimano drivetrain, and when it’s time to head back down, you’ll find the Suntour XCM suspension fork and Tektro Aries mechanical disc brakes keep you firmly in control of the descents.

Great beginner bike

I have the 2017 version of the arroz, I have the orange one. Overall you get a great frame with some decent components. If you get hooked to riding more like I did you will end up upgrading some of those components, first thing I did was to get a rear air shock and it made allot of difference. Very happy with my purchase and I recommend it.

Well worth the money

I got into mountain biking about 2 months ago. I started by going to rei, getting the cheapest hardtail they had, and headed on my way. For $500, it was alright, but they told me entry level full suspension bikes would start at $1,500. I still love rei, but boy were they wrong. After getting hooked on the sport, I did some research and came across the atroz 1. Being a recent college grad, I don’t have thousands to blow on a bike so I gave it a shot. Expecting the cheapest components, I was blown away at the bang for your buck. Tires that grip well In corners, full metal pedals, a seat that drops all the way down, almost too much travel in the front shock, and much more. I have upgraded the drivetrain to a Sram 1x12 groupset and raceface pedals, but that’s it and I’m still less than $1350 in. Additionally, their customer service and warrantee have been great. The front rotor needed a turning and on top of offering to pay for any bike shop repair costs, they sent me another rotor as well. At this point, I plan to stop spending money on this bike and save up for a higher end diamondback because they proved their worth hands down. If you’re wanting to get into mountain biking but are worried about starting with a lower quality product because of the price, don’t. Order this bike right now.

Great Beginner Bike

This is a great beginner bike, I live in Indiana which is probably the flattest state in America, so there’s not much hard to hit, so it works perfect for where I’m at. There’s awesome MTB trails about 8 minutes down the road from where I live so it’s perfect! If you wanna hit some of the more epic bike parks, I’d suggest something a bit better. This is a good bike and you can always upgrade the fork and rear suspension, but the fork even has a warning not to do anything besides cross-country! So it’s a great bike to upgrade after you get a bit better. My only thing I’m pissed about was that when my bike arrived, the box was nearly shredded, and the derailleur hanger, front derailleur, and front disk brake were all bent! So I had to take it to the bike shop to get it all fixed up. Diamondback is a great company, sent me a new hanger, but apparently their warehouse couldn’t give a damn about these extremely expensive bikes. As if throwing around $700 is no big deal. I put in a warranty claim and took them a week just to get back to me. But the bike is great! Diamondback customer service and quality control, pretty meh.

Bike didn’t come with everything needed to finish assembling. 2 day shipping? Don’t waste your money on that... took almost a week to get the bike. Wish it had better instructions for putting the front wheel on as well. As someone who has never don this before it’s very frustrating. Bike seems to be great quality although I’m not sure how it rides since I have to go buy tools to finish assembling it.
