The 2013 Clarity STI-8 performance hybrid is a top of the line bike aimed to please those who commute, train exercise, or are simply looking for a smooth riding bike to recreate on. If we liken this bike to a sports car; it’s the special-ordered model with all of the options. But the basis of all of this is the Clarity 6061-T6 Butted Aluminum Performance Hybrid frame with a formed/hooded top tube, an integrated headtube, and vertically compliant stays (VCS).
Fit specifically for the frame is a Clarity Integrated Alloy aero straight blade fork keeping your ride smooth, stable and precise. Simplicity is key here and we’ve made things as simple as possible by providing a Shimano Nexus internally geared 8spd hub in the rear and a single 38tring up front. This keeps maintenance simple and your ride quiet at the same time. The hub sports a Shimano 18t sprocket in the rear so if has the look and feel of a single speed while providing the 8 separate gearing options… all controlled by a Shimano SL8S-20 light action 8spd, twist grip shifter. That’s right folks… no derailleurs!
The light weight and aesthetically pleasing wheelset sports 32h Equation R23 rims with a machined braking surface, 14 gauge stainless steel spokes, an alloy front hub and Kenda Kwick Trax puncture resistant 700×32c tires.
Linear pull brakes provide an ample amount of stopping power, sure to keep you out of harm’s way. The rest of the cockpit is proprietary Diamondback alloy with an oversized 31.8mm handlebar and 3D Forged 7° stem to give the appropriate rise for maximum steering control and comfort.
A DB Performance Hybrid saddle with gel sits atop a 27.2 alloy micro adjust seat post offering an exceptionally comfortable ride whether that be in your next cause ride or simply around the block.
