Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park Grand Opening Goes Off With A Bang… BOOM!
Team Penske/Diamondback (ok that’s really kind of an inside joke but whatever) had a fantabulous weekend out at the Grand Opening of the Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Skills Park in Issaquah, WA this weekend. For those who don’t know, I am the former Executive Director of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, the local trail building and advocacy group responsible for the design and building of the park. Many years were poured into securing and building out the park so this was a very special and important day for me, the staff and board of Evergreen, and all of the hundreds of volunteers who put in countless hours to see this project thru - very cool indeed! It’s awesome to see what a community can do when they come together on a project such as this.
Estimates were that between 500 and 700 people attended the event and things were completely off the hook. Diamondback was out in full force. Word to Diamondbacks Scott Matual, Gabe Dries, Tyler “Young T” Deschaine, Billy Lewis (AKA Billy the Kid) and Magic Mike Brown for representing Diamondback and helping out at the event. I really appreciated all of your help. Diamondback presented a $5000 check to the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance at the event to help support current and future trail building opportunities. What a beautiful partnership!
