- DB Hi-Ten Steel Sport Hybrid Frame Geometry
- Hi-Ten Rigid Steel Fork for smooth pavement cruising
- 7spd Drivetrain with Twist Shifters for easy actuation
If you’re having trouble trying to determine whether the comforts of a comfort bike are more important to you than the efficiency of a road bike; get the best of both with a 2014 Diamondback Kalamar hybrid. It’s an affordable, no nonsense hybrid that doesn’t require giving up the farm to own. From the simple to the sophisticated, you’ll find the path, neighborhood, and around town bike you’re after in the comfort geometry of the Diamondback Kalamar.
The Kalamar combines the same relaxed contact point features of a comfort bike with the big smooth-rolling 700c wheels of a road bike. The heart of the bike is DB Hi-Ten Steel hybrid geometry frame with formed tubes and a Hi-Ten steel fork.
We’ve combined simplicity with class by choosing to go with a simple 7 speed bike drivetrain comprised of a single ring up front with an alloy crankset and integrated chainguard. Shimano handles the drivetrain needs with the 7 speed grip shifters, rear derailleur, and a rear cog with Mega Range Gearing to make climbing a breeze.
Tektro linear pull brakes and Tektro levers with reach adjust round out this smooth rolling, smooth shifting machine. SSW700 Double Tunnel alloy rims offer up a durably built wheel that can go for days. A comfy cockpit provides precise steering and the suspension post with a comfort elastomer spring saddle offers a comfortable position and some cushion for those long rides.
The 2014 Kalamar is red and comes in four sizes: SM (15"), M (17"), LG (19"), XL (21").
