Our South By SouthWest Media Blitz trip started in SLC on Tuesday and we quickly made our way to Moab Utah for our first ride. An early morning rip down Amasa Back to Jackson, enjoying some of Moab’s finest. We then hit the road and made our way to Durango, CO where we hooked up with Verde PR’s Kristin Carpenter-Ogden and Bicycling’s Matt Philips. A nice afternoon ride around Horse Gulch testing the Sortie Black 29 added to an already awesome day of riding.

South By South West - No, not the music festival although that would be rad too. Tomorrow my day will start with a flight to Salt Lake City Where I will get picked up by DF5 team rider, Eric Porter. We'll then proceed to Moab for some riding before blazing out to Durango, Santa Fe, and Sedona in the impending days.

The race was held at the Orange County Speedway with a course that had close to 300+ riders start and finish on the apron of the race track.  The course offered varied terrain that began by winding the riders thru the infield of the track to the only set of double barriers prior to taking them up and out over the back straight entrance. Most riders opted to run the barriers, with only a few making the effort to bunny hop them.

After a 6 month trip of globe bouncing, huck sending ,couch surfing, comp riding mountain bike madness... I've finally made it back to good ol New Zealand. Its good to have a place to live , a car, and to catch up with all my Kiwi buddys who have been freezing their butts off while I was enjoying the northern hemisphere summer ...suckers haha!

About a week ago, I drove down to Santa Cruz to stay with my buddy R-Dog for AT’s Showdown in San Francisco. First day on the course was a little off… The course was pretty wet from rain, no one had guinea pigged any of the jumps yet, and it was cold. For a few hours everyone helped dig to get the course dialed, and before I knew it I was one of the first to drop in. My first run went incredibly well, got through it to the end first try. Then it was on.

DIamondback went down to Vegas this past weekend to assist the Ride 2 Recovery staff in one of their Honor Rides which helps to raise money for the program.  This tied in well with commemorating the 237^th “birthday” of the United States Marine Corps along with today’s Veterans Day. Raleigh/DB was well represented and mentioned in the opening remarks by John Wordin to all the riders. They are looking forward to their Raleigh bikes arriving sometime after the first of the year to replace their current road bikes.

The DF5 Team took a team trip down to Oregon in late May to shoot some of our new 2013 Knuckle Box product. We spent some time in the towns of Bend, Blue River and Hood River, OR. The result was a collection of awesome shots, amazing riding and of course... your typical road trip shenanigans. This video is a documentation of the journey.
